This 30-day trial version of Protekt is a low-strength restricted evaluation copy which will give you a chance to see how the product works. The full strength version is a drop in replacement.

Export Considerations

In regards to exporting this version of Protekt from Australia:

In regards to importing (including downloading) this version of Protekt or re-exporting it for countries other than Australia:

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT EXPORT/IMPORT AND/OR USE OF STRONG CRYPTOGRAPHY SOFTWARE, PROVIDING CRYPTOGRAPHY HOOKS OR EVEN JUST COMMUNICATING TECHNICAL DETAILS ABOUT CRYPTOGRAPHY SOFTWARE IS ILLEGAL IN SOME PARTS OF THE WORLD. Patents and Licenses

Some of the Protekt cipher suites include Forge implementations of the RSA and IDEA algorithms. In some countries these algorithms may require licensing from their respective companies.

It is the Licensee's sole responsibility to ensure legality of using the Forge Protekt software in their country.

Protekt Evaluation License Agreement

Before downloading the Protekt evaluation software you must read and agree to the terms of the license that follows:

This Protekt Evaluation License Agreement ("The Agreement") is made between Forge Information Technology Pty Ltd and the CUSTOMER (as designated below). Whereas Forge Information Technology has provided Documentation and Programs whether provided on media or as download for the installation of the Programs, designated below, for demonstration purposes on the terms and conditions contained in this Agreement.

It is hereby agreed as follows:

1. Terms

1.1 The customer acknowledges that Forge Information Technology shall retain all title, copyright and other proprietary and intellectual property rights in the Programs and any modifications and or translations thereof.

1.2 The Customer warrants that they:

1.2.1 Will not copy, transfer, rent, lease, or loan the Programs or Documentation or make them available for use by others in any timesharing, service bureau, or similar arrangement other than as expressly allowed for in this Agreement.

1.2.2 Will not disassemble, reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the Programs.

1.2.3 Will not use the Programs for commercial or trade purposes.

1.2.4 Will not use or duplicate the Programs for any other purpose other than as specified in this Agreement.

1.2.5 Will not make the Programs available to unauthorised third parties.

1.2.6 Will not install the Programs on any machines not under the Customer's control.

2. Objectives

2.1 The Programs (The Protekt Evaluation software) is meant for customer evaluation of Protekt.

3. Limitation of Liability

3.1 All warranties, representations, promises, conditions or statements regarding the Programs, whether express or implied, and whether statutory or otherwise (including, without limiting generality, warranties, representations, promises, conditions and statements as to merchantability, suitability or fitness for any purpose, profitability or any other attributes or consequences of or benefits to be obtained from or in the course of using the Programs) are to the full extent permitted by law hereby expressly excluded.

3.2 The liability of Forge for a breach of a condition of or warranty in respect of the Products or part thereof is limited to any one or more of the following (at Forge's option):

a) the replacement of the goods (including computer software) supplied by Forge; or

b) the repair of the goods (including computer software) supplied by Forge.

3.3 The Customer acknowledges that in no event will Forge be liable for any special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages (including, without limiting generality, damages for loss of business profits, business interruption, and loss of business information or computer programs) or exemplary or punitive damages or damage to personal property arising in connection with the Programs.

4. General

4.1 This agreement constitutes and expresses the entire agreement and understanding between the parties hereto.
