The Forge Security Provider supplies
key generation, conversion and signature services for
public and private keys using the RSA algorithm, key
generation and exchange using the Diffie-Hellman algorithm,
plus MD5 and SHA-1 HMACs. It is compatible with the
JCE 1.2 specification.
This provider is being made available
for both commercial and non-commercial use.
If so, you need the Forge Protekt
Encryption software products. Forge's JCE, the Forge
Security Provider, is included with the SSL libraries
in the Protekt product line.
||2nd February 2000 - Version
1.32 has been released. Added MD5 and SHA-1 HMACs
and an RSA cipher.
5 November 1999 - Version 1.31 has been released.
This is a maintenance release with a change to
the public and private key implementations to
make them work with the keytool when importing
certificates signed by a CA.
24 September 1999 - Version 1.3 has been released.
Diffie-Hellman key generation and exchange is
1 July 1999 - Version 1.22 has been released.
This version has a change allowing it to work
with hardware keystores that do not expose the
private values of an RSA private key.

Version 1.21 is now released - this is a major
new release - snacc is no longer required and
the provider includes a free ASN.1 toolkit!
